My Lost Youth

My Lost Youth

I believe every poem tells a story. This video is one story that is about this poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow called "My Lost Youth". This is an opportunity for poets to take their poems into another realm. If you have created a movie from a poem you wrote or from an older poet, please send it to me so that I may see it. My You Tube Channel is http://www.YouTube.com/Podcastbard.

Light a candle instead of cursing the darkness

Light a candle instead of cursing the darkness
by Robert G Parent

Some good editing skills to increase the fear that exist in the world. Here is something that I put up on my twitter page "I find it fascinating that people would put their faith in prophecy instead of in their own two hands." Its not Christ that will make this world a better place, its us Children of God. And only after this happens, then humanity can claim its true heritage.

Video about Nothing

Video about Nothing

Don't watch the video, just listen to it. I just talk in this video. I did do a poem around the 3 minute mark. It's the only poem that I've written since coming out of the hospital. Its called "Freedom Search". I would like to get some comments on what you think of the poem. Is it good? How could I improve on the poem?

First Day of Spring

First Day of Spring
by Robert G Parent

today is the beginning
the first full Spring day
before the Sun rises
the lonely car passes
in the cool of the night
the blood of trees flow
waiting, to be trapped, to share
their powers of creation
in a New Year, a New Time

Winter's been hard
for two years, I've wondered
the Cold Winter, waiting
for my Spring's rebirth
for two years, I've gathered,
my strength in Winter's Sleep
for a New Time, a New Direction

the seeds been planted
I dreamt dreams of my potential
my energy grows
in the wonderful dreams of imagination,
the stories I've told only onto me,
recorded in Universe's intelligence
about the three forces
of life, death, and creation
that flow around and through me,
the seed of pure potential,
where I wait and become.

My Memoir Poetry Lesson

There is an example that is used commonly in creative writing where people write short memoirs. So I took up this challenge and turned it into a poetry lesson. Enjoy.

How to Write a Book

Writing Fiction & Poetry : How to Write a Book or Story

How to Write a Book

Hey all, You Tube is great. You never know what you'll find there. Here is an awesome video that explains the basics to writing a book. I think the idea about writing a page a day good one. Also, I think that the question that he asked "why do you want to write?" is a good one as well. Knowing the why will either keep you writing or help you pursue something else. I think an equally valid question is "Who do you want to be?" Because for anyone to have any success in any venture they have to BE someone and DO the work necessary to HAVE the amount of success that comes in that area. But whatever you do decide to DO, I hope that you DO stay creative in the magic of life.
